Voting for the 2022 Michigan Volleyball Player of the Year contest - sponsored by Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy

  • The criteria that will be used to select the 2022 Volleyball Player of the Year champion will be:
    • 30% - Performance Throughout Season
    • 20% - Level of Competition
    • 20% - Online Vote
    • 15% - Big Game Performance
    • 10% - Team Success
    • 5% - Highly Recruited Athlete.

Throughout the season, we will be updating player statistics and adding new candidates into the contest as their actual play and performance merits, with a goal of keeping the ten best players on the board. In mid-November we will close online voting and select our final four candidates. The final award selection and presentation will take place in December. Please check out State Champs! Erin Madigan

High School: Dakota
Position: S Senior
Height: 6'2
Commitment: Arkansas St.

Another tall setter on this list, Erin's physical play at the net really stands out. Her ability to shutdown the outside defensively is very impressive. Her hands as a setter are as beautiful as they come. Another setter that runs a quick and precise offense. Dakota will need her on if they are going to return to Battle Creek this season.

Remi Madison

High School: Grand Blanc
Position: OH Senior
Height: 5'9
Commitment: Uncommitted

Remi is one of the best athletes playing volleyball. Her movement is as natural as they come and her quickness is second to none. There are even rumors that she is asked to set for her Grand Blanc team this season. Remi will do whatever her team needs to win and she will do it at an elite level.

Ava Sarafa

High School: Marian
Position: S Senior
Height: 5'11
Commitment: Kentucky

Sarafa is considered one of the top setters in the country. Although losing many weapons on offense over the past couple seasons, she continues to dish out over 1,000 assists each season. Her ability to set the ball on a dime from anywhere on the court makes her elite.

Abby Reck

Position: OH Senior
Height: 6'2
Commitment: Northeastern

Abby made the move from middle to outside her junior season and she excelled. Leading Northville to the quarterfinals last season, she is hoping to build on that success for 2022. Abby's versatility on the net will provide Northville with a lot of matchup problems for other teams.

This dominant lefty setter can do it all for Mercy.  Her left hand, whether she is attacking or setting in the front row, poses problems for teams across the net.  Considered one of the top 2025's in the state, she will be a force for a few more seasons.

Izzy has had an incredible first half of the 2022 season. Hudsonville, who was a state semifinalist in 2021, graduated several talented seniors on their roster. Izzy has elevated her play and is a leader on a team that will be a contender for a state championship in 2022.

Murray is headed to a volleyball powerhouse in Nebraska. In 2021, Harper led Skyline to the schools first volleyball state final. Her ability to see the court and her IQ is what stands out when watching her play.

Committed to Long Beach St. as a libero, Sarah is probably one of the best passers in the state. She controls the ball with great instinct and touch on the ball. For Novi, she is their top outside that is as crafty as they come.

There are a lot of goals and expectations for Forest Hills Northern this year. If they are to achieve them, it is because Kennedy will have a MI Player of the Year type season. Her ability to swing anywhere along the net stands out with this high-flyer.

Nina has carried Lake Orion's offense over the past few seasons.  This 6 rotation outside not only hits a heavy ball, but her ball control and the ability to move so gracefully on defense is what stands out.
