Rickea Jackson Picked No. 4 in WNBA Draft
The 2019 winner of Michigan’s Miss Basketball, Rickea Jackson, was selected No. 4 by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Jackson made history for the University of Tennessee. Her selection marks the fourth consecutive year in which a Lady Vol was picked in the first round of the draft. She is also the highest pick from Tennessee since Diamond DeShields, who was selected third overall in 2018.
Sparks’ general manager said that Jackson is a player that has incredible potential in the WNBA.
Jackson graduated from Detroit Edison High School in 2019, leaving behind an impressive legacy. She led the Pioneers to three consecutive state championships averaging 22 points and 6 rebounds per game. She left Edison as the all-time leading scorer, setting a record with 1,771 points.
With her remarkable talent, Rickea Jackson’s journey to the WNBA promises to be an exciting chapter in her basketball career.
