Unionville Sebewaing Record Season
Unionville Sebewaing cemented its spot in the history books after its fifth straight State Championship win in East Lansing on Saturday, June 15th tying the record for consecutive titles.
Senior star Gabby Crumm led her team to the 11-1 victory against first time finalist Holton in six innings. USA jumped out early putting 3 on the board in the 1st inning. Later in the 4th, Ella Neumann recorded a two-run single and Crumm launched a two-run home run.
Crumm said, “It’s really bittersweet right now, USA softball has meant everything to me, and it’s shaped me in so many different ways. I’m sad that it’s over, but it couldn’t have ended in a better way.”
USA softball ended the season top-ranked in Division 4 with an outstanding 31-11 record heading into the postseason.
USA Head Coach Marc Reinhardt said “I am so glad that this particular group of seniors was able to go out on top. There will be other talented players coming in, but this was a very special group.” They ended their high school career on the biggest stage, taking home a Division 4 State Championship trophy… yet again.
